After reviewing the AP Lang Argument Essay rubric today, explain how you could use the rubric as a roadmap to improve your argument writing.

 Prompt Response: I would use the rubric as a roadmap to improve my argument writing by using it as a reference when building my outline for an essay and knowing what to focus on in my writing. I will know the tone to address my audience throughout my paragraph and how I should be forming my sentences. I also know the amount of commentary necessary in order to receive full points and credit for my work. I'll put this into consideration when typing my draft, and again when reviewing my paper.

Summary: Today we chose a topic we thought to be overrated, and then wrote our own evidence and commentary as to why.

Reflection: Writing everything down helped in preparation for the Essays we write in the future. It also helps because honing the skill of fast writing and forming a strong line of reasoning is important for the AP Exam.

Prompt Response: One word that I find myself using the most right now would be the word "pookie." I use it a lot when addressing my friends, and it's become an endearing term I use for greeting or thanking my friends. Which learning method do you enjoy the most? Class discussions, worksheet work, or hands-on activities.

  Prompt Reflection:  My favorite learning method is class discussions. After that are hands-on activities, and following that... worksheet work. Worksheet work bores me, and while it can sometimes prove to be effective, I wouldn't describe it as real experience/entertainment. Then, hands-on activities. I believe that hands-on activities give me good experience but lack in the entertainment aspect for me. However, when it comes to class discussions, I feel involved, interested, and enjoy interacting with my peers about different topics that interest me. Summary: Today in class, we read over and annotated the 2013 AP Lang FRQ, practicing our skills for making claims and choosing our own positions. Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt Reflection: One thing that I will never fully understand is being a male in our current society. Nothing too complex; I've just recently come to the realization that while I think I understand and I think that I can put myself in the shoes of a male, I'll never fully understand the feeling. Scientifically speaking, the only true thing separating females and males is our hormones and tiny genetic differences. However, I think in the broader scheme of things, I've had to come to terms with the difference in experience imposed on both genders by society...
